Hi! I’m Marni.
I am so glad you are here. I have been at this “health thing” for a quite some time and I’m just as inspired as ever to keep sharing my passion for healthy eating and living. I know that sounds cliche, but it’s true!
First let me give you some background. I studied Kinesiology and Health Sciences at York University, from there I went on to become a certified nutritional practitioner at The Institute of Holistic Nutrition and from there I went on to become a natural chef at The Natural Gourmet Culinary school in New York City.
What started as a career teaching plant-based cooking classes in my parents home, soon led to opening up my own food studio in midtown Toronto. I taught for over 10 years and this has now transformed into sharing a very similar, but different message through the online world. Through instagram, my blog, and top ranking health podcast – I am committed to sharing my story of transformation and healing. If you read this post you will get a really good idea of how things have changed for me over the years.
If you didn’t know this already, I was vegetarian – in fact for many years! It served me (and my business very well). Then things changed, I changed. I started to learn about my body in a way I had never before. My health started to break down, and I had no choice but to shift my perspective on what “healthy eating” meant to me. I went from eating grains, beans and soy, to eating animal protein, lots of healthy fats and still plenty of veggies. I am now grain-free, and eat a paleo-ish balanced diet that nourishes my body on completely different level.
I was eventually diagnosed hashimotos thyroiditis (an autoimmune condition) and this forced me to take my health even more seriously, which I didn’t even think was possible 🙂
I am now feeling better than I have in years. I am experimenting with new recipes, constantly tweaking my diet and lifestyle and focusing on self-care, healing and simple living. I love what I do and I have a passion to share it with you!
I am also a new mom! Having navigated through a natural pregnancy & childbirth, I am excited to share my experiences and what I am learning along the way as a new mother. My goal is empower and educate other mom’s and moms to be to to approach motherhood in the most natural way possible on my new podcast The Ultimate Baby Podcast!
