One night after a private party, Marni and I were stocking the shelves in the Lifestyle Shop, which is the retail aspect of the studio. I don’t know about you, but I find that as I go further along with my health and wellness journey the easier or more natural it becomes. A few months ago I was juicing veggies in a blender, as you can imagine it was not very appetizing. Now, I know the benefits of juicing versus blending and use my kitchen appliances accordingly.
I can definitely say that my plant-powered kitchen knowledge as exponentially grown over the last few months with Marni at my side. With her expertise and experience, I can trust her judgment on what products are best. And it is really helpful to be able to go to the Lifestyle Shop find everything I need and have her there to show me how to use it. And let’s be honest, I was juicing carrots with a blender a short time ago- I need some assistance with using kitchenware!
While arranging Spiralizers on the shelf, I asked Marni a few questions on how she curates her products.
Over the months I’ve heard you say the phrase “Consciously Curates” several times- what does it mean?
Basically, I make a conscious effort to choose wisely and curate the right products for the Studio and myself. For example my Studio has eco-paint, floors and naturally derived materials. In the Studio, my cookware of choice is Saladmaster, because it embodies a naturally toxin-free cooking surface.
I also consciously choose to support my community by hand selecting and bringing in my favourite local companies like Me to We T-Shirts, Nude Honey, Orasta, Steeped & Infused and Graydon Clinical Luxury. All of which take Organic, NON-GMO and Eco-Friendly into account.
Why do you think it is important to Consciously Curate the products you use on a daily basis?
Well Erika, I guess I don’t want to be a hypocrite. We’ve been chatting about what I stand for, for a while now and I would simply be talking the talk if I didn’t curate my products and commit to my values.
Good point. It’s nice to know I can trust that any purchase I make at the Lifestyle Shop has gone through the Marni Wasserman approved trial-run.
